EP42: Black Panther (2018)

We're ditching the normal format of our show to just talk about the runaway success of Black Panther. Buckle up and get ready for an all expense paid trip to talking about morally complex villains, crafting an independent story in a shared universe, Marvel's distinct lack of symphonic scores and dorky gorilla cult leaders. Don't worry, we'll still cover Iron Man 3 in the next episode. It's just that Black Panther was THAT good.

EP41: Iron Man 2 (2010)

Two Iron Men, Two Villains, Two More Secret Spies. We're seeing double in this episode of Super Cinema. We're on the road leading up to Black Panther and Infinity War so we're talking Iron Man 2 and how it's secretly a really good movie. We go into detail on War Machine and why Whiplash is actually one of the better villains of the MCU. We talk about the nerd media criticism binary and what happens when our favorite movies are over-marketed to hell and back. Don't worry, we leave plenty of time to talk about the Venom trailer and our thoughts on the upcoming Deadpool 2. It's an action packed Marvel episode of Super Cinema.

EP40: Iron Man (2008)

Nikki moved to Argentina! Thanks to the magic of worldwide internet communication, Ben and Nikki are still able to do this show and be friends! Those probably should have been in the opposite order, but we know what you're here for. In preparation for Black Panther and Infinity War, we're knocking out the tentpoles of the Marvel Cinematic Universe starting with Iron Man. While we love Tony Stark and Obadiah Stane, we use the first Iron Man movie as an excuse to talk about the grand experiment of the Marvel Cinematic Universe and what makes a good villain.

We're pulling back the curtain on what we think is going to happen in Infinity War. Which of our favorite characters will survive, what's going to happen to Vision and how will Thanos come to his grim end. Tune in, but beware. Potential spoilers are ahead.

EP39: Justice League: Gods and Monsters

In nearly forty episodes of Super Cinema, Ben Hamlin and NIkki Boylan are sitting down to review their first animated feature. For the inaugural animated episode, we're covering the Bruce Timm style illustrated Justice Leagues Gods and Monsters. What if Superman was a jerk? What if Batman was a literal vampire? What if Diana was more awesome than before? New Gods, Metal Men, The Atom, Alternate Universes and Darkseid. We cover all this AND the new Infinity War trailer in this Super Cinema.
